Employee Spotlight Summer 2015


Celestino Gallardo

Celestino has been with Fresco Café since 2006 as a Runner, who has worked in Salad Prep and also as a cashier. He has many achievements including his work with McDonalds Corporation as a Shift Manager and he owns and manages a Central Coast Soccer team, Dep Gallardo. The team has captured four 2nd place finishes and three championships!! Celestino also finds time for his family, wife Evelyn and two children, daughter Stephanie ten years old and Alexander, his seven year old son. He is a professional who takes pride in his work at Fresco Café and we are lucky to have such a great employee.

Marlon Jeffers

Marlon Joined the Fresco staff in 2007 as a delivery driver. Over the years he has worked as a cashier/counter person, and in the last few years has filled in as a shift manager as well. Everyone who knows him is aware of his attention to detail. When he works the takeout counter he makes sure that all take out orders on his watch, are perfect when leaving the restaurant. Marlon loves to travel and takes extended trips to many of his favorite destinations. He is also a talented musician and is currently enrolled at Musicians Institute in Hollywood.

Jose Sanchez

Jose Sanchez has been a part of the Fresco Staff for six years. He is cousin to Amado Robles who was highlighted in the past. He is very shy and quiet, but you can see why his nickname is Smiley. He has worked as utility, prep and on the cook’s line. He works a second job at Presto Pasta. He doesn’t have much free time but when he is not working he enjoys playing Soccer. We appreciate that he can step into different departments when needed.

With every newsletter we try to highlight some of our employees.  So far we have recognized Twenty-Six employees from 1995 up to 2008. Look for future newsletters and employee profiles to come.

Fresco Café’s 20 Year Celebration

On Sunday May 30th Fresco Café celebrated twenty years of operation and serving our customers. We closed the restaurant at 2 pm and hosted almost four hundred guests from 4 pm to 7 pm. There was Food, Entertainment and Sangria, but most of all we got to celebrate all of you. Thank you for the most wonderful twenty years and we hope to serve you for many more!

What’s new in Gluten Free at Fresco Cafe

You may know that Fresco offers Gluten Free Bread, Pasta and Desserts like Flourless Chocolate Cake, Macaroons, Caramel Banana Macaroon Tart, Chocolate and Marscapone Parfait, and Crème Brûlée. Now Fresco Café is offering Gluten Free Pizza, (surcharge) which contains no dairy, sugar or soy. It is available everyday for the Pizza on our specials board. Ask our counter servers for details.

New Staff Members

We congratulate Jesse Brouillard who graduated from college in June and has taken a position with a local company. He will no longer be the Fresco Manager but will be working most Saturday evenings as a shift manager and we are happy to have him remain part of the Fresco Family. 

Denise Miller has been with us for almost two years and will take on Operations Manager responsibilities, Lucky us!

Bobby Lopez, who has worked at Fresco for many years, is back and has been promoted to Shift Manager a few days a week.  We are grateful to have Bobby working as a manager as he knows so much about Fresco and most of our customers too.

Mariah Jones has recently joined the Fresco staff and is also taking on the role as a shift manager. 

All our managers look forward to providing quality service to our guests.

Fresco Café invites you to host a Saturday Evening Fundraiser for your non-profit or an neighbor in need. We donate up to 15 % of the total sales from 4 to 9 pm

What's New

We have just started a Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday Happy Hour, from 5 pm to 7 pm. We will be offering all beer and wine at 2.00 off regular price and there will be a special 5.00 appetizer introduced from our catering menu as well. 

Also on Mondays, Al Vafa will be entertaining on the patio with vocals and guitar from 6 to 8:30 pm.

This May it will be TWENTY-EIGHT YEARS that Fresco has been at Five Pts. and TWENTY YEARS that Mark and I have owned our Fresco Cafe! We are so grateful to everyone in the community, and those who stop in when passing through, for their support and patronage.

We will be celebrating our ANNIVERSARY on SATURDAY MAY 30th with a free block party from 4 pm to 8 pm, with food and entertainment for all! We hope that our customers will come out and join the fun.
